The outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges to the lives of people around the world. Based on the current situation, covid-19 has negatively affected the economy in general and the exhibition industry in particular. Until now, more than 30 exhibitions and conferences around the world have been canceled or delayed, predicting more damage to come for the restaurant, hotel, airline and entertainment businesses. ..
Recently, the organizers of Informa Markets announced the cancellation of Mining Vietnam 2021 - The International Exhibition of Mining, Mineral Resources & Construction Industry in Vietnam, since most of the attendance are Chinese exhibitors. But due to the pandemic, they can not come to Vietnam.
On May 14th, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued a decision to temporarily close service businesses such as cinemas, supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, trade fairs, etc. Drinks are only allowed to be sold and taken away, not gathering more than 5 people until the epidemic is controlled. Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City 2021 is among these, so it has to be canceled and cannot take place as originally planned.
To protect public health, on May 30th, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued an urgent decision on social distancing (under directives 15 - 16). ProPak Vietnam 2021 exhibition and the companion event Printech Vietnam are also postponed to 2022.
Travel restrictions to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic have become a barrier for international visitors to attend the exhibition. It is predicted that in the near future, this impact will be even stronger because the epidemic is on the verge of a strong outbreak and if it is controlled, it will take until 2021 to stabilize the situation. The two leading exhibition venues in the country, I.C.E International Exhibition Center in Hanoi and SECC Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City, also fall. The number of participating businesses and visitors has decreased markedly, large-scale exhibitions taking place from April to July have been postponed such as: Vifa Expo 2021, Saigon Autotech 2021, Telefilm 2021, MTA Vietnam 2021... and a number of other exhibitions are also at risk of being canceled or rescheduled.
For many years now, China has been Vietnam's number one trading partner, the largest import market and the second largest export market of Vietnam's goods, only after the US. In recent days, the strict implementation of the prevention of pneumonia caused by corona virus has made the transportation and delivery of goods between provinces and cities difficult, significantly affecting the export of agricultural and aquatic products of Vietnam to this country. Worth mentioning, the import and export activities of Vietnam's agricultural products to China are almost paralyzed.
