The Opening Ceremony of the “National Achievements Exhibition A80” took place at 9:00 AM on August 28, 2025, at the National Exhibition Center (VEC). The atmosphere was both solemn and vibrant, attended by top leaders such as General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, as well as former leaders including former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh and former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung. Ambassadors, diplomatic representatives, and international organizations were also present, further highlighting the event’s international significance.
The ceremony featured grand decorations, with flowers and national flags complementing each other. Large LED screens showcased historical milestones from the August Revolution to present-day socio-economic achievements. The national anthem of Vietnam played during the flag-raising ceremony evoked deep pride among thousands of guests and citizens. The atmosphere was not only formal but also emotional, reminding attendees of the nation’s 80 years of construction and development.
Following the opening ceremony, the exhibition officially began with a diverse range of activities that energized the event:
“Dreams of the Blue Sky” Zone: Covering 10,000 sqm, this area showcased nearly 70 years of Vietnam’s aviation history. Exhibits included the IL-14 aircraft once used to serve President Ho Chi Minh, Airbus A320, Vietnam-designed TP-150 light aircraft, and helicopters from the 18th Regiment. Interactive features such as flight simulators and an air traffic control tower model captivated visitors, especially young audiences.
Cultural and Historical Space: The “Vietnam – Land – People” area highlighted 4,000 years of culture and the diversity of 54 ethnic groups. Provincial pavilions such as Phu Tho (national treasure lithophone), Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh Long (bamboo weaving crafts), and Khanh Hoa (brocade weaving and pottery) provided visitors with unique cultural experiences.
Modern Interactive Technology: 3D scanning Avatar Booths, AI reception robots, and virtual reality experiences brought a modern touch to the exhibition, attracting attention across all age groups. These activities were not only entertaining but also offered insights into Vietnam’s technological progress.
Defense and Security Zone: Showcased modern weapons and technical equipment developed and manufactured domestically, demonstrating Vietnam’s defense capabilities.
The “National Achievements Exhibition A80” is not only a major political and cultural event but also an opportunity for the Vietnamese people, especially the younger generation, to reflect on 80 years of national achievements. From the struggle for independence to today’s economic, cultural, and technological progress, the exhibition demonstrates Vietnam’s spirit of unity and aspiration for development.
The solemn, grand, and emotional opening atmosphere ignited national pride and encouraged active participation throughout the exhibition from August 28 to September 5, 2025. With over 230 booths representing 28 ministries, 34 provinces, and more than 110 enterprises, the event promises a rich and meaningful experience.
The opening of the “National Achievements Exhibition A80” was a remarkable success, leaving a strong impression with its solemn, vibrant, and emotional atmosphere. From the button-pressing ceremony, the Prime Minister’s inspiring speech, to captivating cultural performances, the event marked an unforgettable milestone in exploring Vietnam’s 80 years of achievements. Gia Long is honored to have contributed by designing and constructing exhibition booths.
